We are looking for a motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. Our Ophthalmic Technicians will provide accurate, quality eye care to patients of all ages. The successful candidate ideally (not required) would have a background in a medical care setting.
As a technician, you will be responsible for carrying out diagnostic procedures and evaluations according to the standard procedures of the clinic. You will work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team including other ophthalmic technical personnel, administrative staff, and physicians. Therefore, you must be a strong team player.
The successful incumbent must have or obtain (through this position) a thorough knowledge of ophthalmic diseases, be alert to any signs of the potential risk to the patient and be able to take the necessary steps to ensure the patient’s safety.
You will also be required to demonstrate proficiency in multi-tasking/prioritization, stress tolerance and resiliency, promotion of a positive and respectful work environment, attention to detail, and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Description:
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will perform technical work involving the use of a variety of testing equipment to measure and evaluate retinal function and intraocular pressure in order to evaluate conditions affecting the eye. You will perform diagnostic Ophthalmic procedures under the direction of an Ophthalmologist. You will prepare patients for laser and minor procedures (injections) and instruct and educate the client/patient on procedure and equipment.
