Job Description
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be joining CIBC’s Financial Crimes & Enterprise Risk Technology team. You’ll lead complex technical projects to design strategic solutions involving multiple back-end systems aligned to CIBC’s enterprise architecture roadmap. As a Systems Consultant, you’ll support end-to-end project implementation in technical design, integration and deployment of information security applications. You’ll ideate and collaborate with a application developers, engineers, architects and other technical teams to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.
The Systems Analyst is responsible for providing technical expertise for service delivery and operations for the Information Security systems. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. This role exercises independent judgement to continuously improve the existing program and project management discipline, providing consulting to IT and Information Security partners on applying technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation. The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking, facilitating the application of new technologies to support existing processes.

How you’ll succeed

Technical Requirement Gathering -Work closely with business and technology partners to gather complex technical user stories/requirements (functional & non-functional). Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, system goals, and requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements

Data Mapping -Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow.

Problem Solving -Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.

Coordination – Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures, and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.

Documentaion – Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed.

Consultation – Assemble client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, user stories/solution requirements, system workflows and quality assurance.
Who you are
-
You’ve spent at least 3 years in a BSC role leading projects, creating technical requirements and designing solutions. It’s an asset if you have experience with Agile methodologies, and Application and/or Architecture Development.

Technical Skills. You are comfortable with working with data mapping, back-end systems and have a technical background, yet have strong business acumens to understand what the business really needs. You MUST have professional exposure in system development lifecycle utilizing the waterfall delivery approach and expertise in delivering technical/solution requirements. It nice to have agile delivery experience.

You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Application Development, IT, Business, and/or a related field
