Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for an EIT to join our Mining & Minerals construction project located near Gogama, who will be trained and apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization’s products and services. The EIT will plan, schedule and conduct technical engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.
This role will be reporting to the Area Project Manager and/or Project Director.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups/disciplines with clients, suppliers and contractors and between other divisional groups
Coordinate timely responses to contractor RFI, initiating & implementation of field directives/field work orders
Plan & control contract scope management and engage with contractors for technical clarifications
Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate reviews of contractor submissions with site engineering team
Plan project activities and work with project controls & contractors to develop look ahead plans
Perform all aspects of project integration activities including project reporting, monitoring and controlling and resource forecasting
Work with project controls to monitor project metrics and to control project costs and schedule on a continual basis
Prepare required trends expeditiously to reflect scope changes, cost and schedule impacts per Change Management protocol
Assist in project QA/QC activities to ensure project execution meets the requirements prescribed in the PEP.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum 0-3 years’ of related engineering experience.
Registration as an EIT in Ontario will be considered an asset
Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and vendors
Ability to work with administrative supervision and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
