About this opportunity:
We have an opportunity for a Treasury Analyst. In this role you would be responsible for short-term cash forecasting for our US and Asia subsidiaries and executing foreign exchange and drawdown trades, and treasury reporting. There will be opportunities to support current and upcoming Treasury projects.

Responsibilities:
Cash Forecasting
-
Execute daily cash forecasting activities for US and Asia subsidiaries.
-
Maintain adequate cash balances for Cenovus US banking financing structure.
-
Plan and execute intercompany transfers and loans for US and Asia subsidiaries.
-
Gain an understanding of the variables needed to create the short-term cash forecast, especially US refineries
-
Reconciles the TMS daily cash position.
-
Prepares the daily cash position reports and investigates variances.
-
Provide back-up to cash forecasting for Canadian parent and Canadian subsidiaries.
-
Willing to build a strong knowledge base in the TMS and look to utilize the system for reporting on Treasury activities.

Responsible for gaining cash forecasting knowledge utilizing the TMS system.
Foreign Exchange & Drawdowns
-
Plan and execute foreign exchange and drawdown trades through Bloomberg or with counterparties.
-
Provide coverage for the Trading desk.
-
Ensure all foreign exchange, investment and drawdown trades are entered and confirmed through Bloomberg or with counterparties.

Coordinates daily trade payments with disbursements.
-
Responsible for reporting on foreign exchange, investment and drawdown compliance.

Gain an understanding of and adhere to the governance of the types of investments, investment policy, and execution strategy in place at Cenovus.

Gain a solid understanding of Bloomberg related to cash markets and market updates.
Reporting
-
Prepare daily cash update and summary, and monthly US cash balance report
-
Work with Team Lead to develop and maintain Treasury metrics and market reporting.

Responsible for building the Cash Management sections of the monthly Treasury report.

Assist with the quarterly internal reporting.

Assist with internal/external audit inquiries.
Other
-
Adhere to all SOX related controls in Treasury.

Projects, including Kyriba Qlik Business Intelligence, and/or as assigned by Team Lead or Senior Manager.
Qualifications:
-
Undergraduate degree in finance or accounting.
-
2-3 years’ experience in a large corporate, treasury experience preferred
-
Cash forecasting and cash modeling experience would be an asset.
-
Foreign exchange, investment and drawdown planning and execution experience would be an asset.
-
Strong knowledge of Cenovus’s Canadian, US, and International business would be an asset.
-
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
-
Ability to manage effectively in a team environment, coordinating multiple tasks in parallel, many times with conflicting priorities.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions/recommendations.
-
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and Treasury Management Systems including Kyriba is preferred.

Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business both internal and external.
