This is a Fly In, Fly Out (FIFO) position with camp accommodations provided. Charter flights out of Edmonton and Calgary are provided and travel allowances will be considered for anyone outside of these hubs. Individuals utilizing provided flights must be fully vaccinated as per federal transportation regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
Construction layout and as-builts utilizing Total Station and GPS.
Inspect, operate, and maintain survey equipment, tools, and vehicles.
Record measurements and other information related to the survey work.
Complete daily field notes, sketches and reports according to job specifications and Apex operational procedures.
Full compliance and active participation in Apex Geomatics’ Health and Safety Program.
Adherence with quality assurance procedures and quality control practices.
Provide mentorship and training to assist with subordinate’s professional development.
Liaise with client representatives to coordinate survey work, priorities, and deliverables.
Effective communication and flow of information from field to office.
As a representative of Apex Geomatics, you are to conduct yourself with a professional, cordial attitude with clients.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Geomatics Technology or equivalent amount of related experience.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficient use and knowledge of Trimble RTK, Robotic Total Stations, and related software.
Technical competence and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to process field data and day to day administrative tasks.
Eagerness and willingness to learn new technical skills.
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate with team members.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
CSTS 2020, CSO/BSO certifications required. ESC Fall Protection and Standard First Aid preferred.
Line Locating and Advanced UAV Pilot Certifications are considered an asset.
Experience with Civil 3D and Trimble Business Centre are considered an asset.
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to pre-assess drug and alcohol screening.
