Who We’re Looking For:
We are currently seeking a full-time Controller to join our finance department and lead the day-to-day accounting, reporting and reconciliation duties for Fintel Connect.
FC’s Controller is an integral part of the finance department and reports directly to the CEO and senior leadership team. The ideal candidate can work independently and has solid foundational accounting skills, with the attention to detail necessary to ensure accuracy in all areas of the role.

What You’ll Get To Do:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operational work, including planning, directing and coordinating all full cycle accounting functions
- Hire, manage, and train new staff members. Up to two staff members in the department
- Monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Month, quarter, and yearly closing
- Review all inter-company transactions
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the leadership teams’ attention
- Report against benchmarks to measure the performance of company operations
- Manage and provide weekly reports to the leadership team on cash flow and cash position
- Comply with local, provincial, and federal government requirements and tax filings
- Drive growth of the business through meaningful analysis to support key decision-making and performance monitoring initiatives
- Optimize financial performance, monitor business risks and produce risk mitigation strategies
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
- 5+ years experience in full cycle accounting
- CPA certification
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks
- Professional and effective communication and presentation skills at all levels (both written and verbal)
- A team player who is willing to “roll up their sleeves” and lend support where needed
- Proven ability to build strong rapport with entire team and across departments
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are key
- Strong organization skills and ability to pivot in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with clear communication protocols
- Is of a growth mindset and is excited by high-growth entrepreneurial environments
- Experience managing a direct report is considered an asset
- Middle to large size industry experience is considered an asset
- Experience working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is considered an asset
