City Centre Property Management is a distinguished and reputable Halifax-based property management company, currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team. This position plays a key role in our finance department. Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Accounting and working closely with the operations and property management departments on a day to day basis, the ideal candidate will be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and has the ability to learn and use other software programs. Strong knowledge of accounting and experience in a similar role are considered assets.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record Journal Entries
  • Managing Accounts receivable/collections
  • Support the month-end close process
  • Supporting preparation of monthly financials
  • Supporting executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks
  • Perform other related duties as required

Required Skills:

  • 2-5 years of experience with an accounting or analytical role; post-secondary education in related field preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Practices and Procedures
  • Intermediate to Senior Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of electronic accounting systems
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Deadline oriented, exceptional organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret data
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to work well with multiple teams
  • Self-motivated to achieve above average results
  • The ability to act responsibly and ethically when working with sensitive financial information, whether it is information for the company or for individuals
