Missions and Responsibilities
The main purpose of this position is ensuring a continuous customer supply by
planning, analyzing, optimizing and coordinating with Process and Pipeline (PPS) and
Oilfield Well Services (OWS) field operations.
The individual is responsible for optimizing the distribution efficiency while minimizing costs and ensuring excellent service to internal and external customers while respecting transportation of dangerous goods, MOT & DOT regulations and ensuring that no customers or projects are run out of product.
Analyses the customer or project demand and ensures accuracy of the distribution plan which details customer needs, product and equipment availability, geographical position and delivery optimization using logistics KPI’s.
Creates orders in the the system for customers who need a punctual, standard or in regular intervals delivery.
Assign routes to every driver, indicating schedule, equipment and source to draw from.
Determines the order of priority of the round deliveries.
Plans the utilization of trucks according to their maximal capacity.
Analyses Customer trends and proactively reaches out to them to understand usage changes and production plans.
Maintains the master data accuracy in the system.
Ensures a follow-up of the activity:
Validates and confirms the drivers’ operations (customer number, truck and trailer identification numbers, tank level, delivered product, mileage, driver’s name, etc.) and reviews the performance of trips and takes actions to correct and improve efficiency.
Relays information to PPS Operations team in the event of an equipment failure.
Coordinates, in collaboration with the maintenance team, the management of the truck and trailer maintenance.
Reviews driver’s log books, any regulatory systems required (IFTA) and adherence to equipment maintenance protocols or policies.
Reviews the delivery routes and clusters on a regular basis in order to optimize the bulk network.
Manages Emergency Calls:
Responds to emergency calls as well as customer and drivers’ requests.
Directs calls to the appropriate department.
Identifies nonconformities found in dispatching procedures and alerts the appropriate manager or department.
Follows up on driver issues or product sourcing issues.
Safety:
Knows, respects and promotes a safety culture at the Distribution Centre.
Attends safety meetings.
Follows up all safety incidents and participates proper RCAs where necessary.
Promotes a safe working environment.
Competencies and Profile
Diploma:
Bachelor’s degree Logistics / Supply Chain or College Certificate in Logistics or PLog or equivalent
Training:
DOT / MOT, Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Knowledge:
Superior oral / written communication, distribution activities, excellent knowledge
of computerized / digital systems related to Logistics, Bilingual an asset
