Introduction
OLDF is looking for a Web Designer/Developer for a contract position. The Web Developer will develop and maintain our websites using WordPress.
Ontario Learning Development Foundation (OLDF) is a registered charity in Canada that performs training and educational services for youths, children, new immigrants, and seniors. We are a non-profit organization that ensures Canadian youths and recent immigrants have equal opportunities to participate fully in an open and inclusive Canadian society regardless of age, colour, and academic background.
Position Overview
We seek a creative individual, innovative and self-driven with experience in both digital and web mediums.
– You will build, design and develop web applications using WordPress
– Use social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, WordPress, LinkedIn, Instagram) to relay information, encourage interaction, and bring traffic to the organization’s website
– Implement template, write new content and migrate existing content.
Qualifications
The successful candidates for this role will bring the following skills and experiences:
– Proficiency in: WordPress, API setups, HTML, CSS, SEO and JavaScript
– Experience in using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or other graphic design tools to produce appealing designs for websites and landing pages
– You are a self-starter and have the ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
– You must be friendly, and personable and work well under all conditions.
– You must be able and willing to learn, regardless of your level of competence or ability.
– You understand SEO well and all the best practices surrounding SEO-friendly website development.
– Experience developing an e-zine will be considered an asset.
Time Commitment
– Flexible hours, approx. 20-30 hours/week
– Must be available for a 3–4-month contract
– Salary: $15.50 per hour

Since this is a funded position by Canada Summer Job grants, all applicants must be a youth (Citizen, Permanent resident or Conventional Refugee) between 15 -30 years of age to qualify.
