As a Craft Team Member within Operations, you will be part of a growing team that is tasked with the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of our global projects and assets. You will spend time supporting Central Maintenance primarily repairing centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and compressors across the site. You may also support routine maintenance when required which includes area-based maintenance and the repair shop.
What you’ll be working on :
As a Journeyman Millwright/Machinist, you will:

Responsible for the maintenance and overhauls of vertical pumps, overhung pumps, between bearing pumps, steam and power turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors

Manage the compressor auxiliary systems, hydraulic and pneumatic unloaders, cylinder lubrication, and prognosis in the monitoring of the system

Equipment installation, foundation prep, leveling, grouting, and final installation of pumps and compressors

Perform laser alignment

Troubleshoot equipment and auxiliary systems

Work with all styles of mechanical seals and troubleshoot the various seal plans including dry gas seals
Skills & Requirements:
-
Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer
-
Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
-
Alberta Journeyman Millwright or Machinist with Red Seal; Dual ticket is an asset
-
Minimum 5 years as a ticketed Journeyman Millwright or Machinist
-
Must reside within the area or be willing to relocate
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license
-
Experience with oil mist systems is required
-
Maintenance experience in an industrial environment is a required
-
Strong safety consciousness and situational awareness in all that the Craft Team Member does
-
Very good safety record and a safety mindset
-
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
-
Cooperative, constructive approach to situations that speaks to the Craft Team Member’s respect and consideration of others
-
Experience in SAP, GSAP CMMS systems is an asset
-
Possesses interpersonal skills to deal with a wide range of people, in a wide range of situations, often in the context of a team environment

Demonstrates ability to perform under pressure

Willingness to share knowledge with co-workers and train apprentices

Commitment to continuous learning

Competent in standard computer operations and Microsoft Office

Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays and be on-call to respond to emergencies when required

Willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
-
Able to climb ladders and stairs, work at heights and in confined spaces

Using safe lifting techniques, able to lift and carry 20 kg from ground to waist level
-
Ability to work safely wearing a respirator or Self-contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
-
Willing to comply with Shell’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures

Willing to work in a diverse and team-oriented environment

Ability to work with minimal supervision
