Location: Remote work arrangement within Canada

We are seeking a Research Associate to join our Human Capital team. The successful candidate will be part of a professional research team and will undertake integrated, non-partisan, applied research for private and public sector business leaders. The role involves work on human resources and total rewards research and related events.

Our Ideal Candidate is… solid research, writing, and customer relationship management skills. You will be expected to undertake research projects of varying size and complexity, provide research support to the Human Capital area’s networks, respond to customer information requests, and support business development activities. The ideal candidate is creative, has foresight and mature judgment in independently anticipating and solving problems.

We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.

About the Role

Some of the things you will do every day:
Help to advance the department’s research portfolio and reputation in total rewards and human resources research and related good practices

Undertake research projects of varying complexities utilizing appropriate qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies (literature reviews, benchmarking, interviews, case studies, surveys, models, and quantitative methods)

Produce high quality, well written research reports, executive summaries, articles, and proposals

Analyze and quickly translate complex research results into key messages for senior executives and decision makers

Ability to think strategically and respond quickly to multiple priorities and deadlines

Support projects to ensure deliverables are on-time, within budget and meets client expectations

Support products and services related to workshops, webinars and conferences

Build content and research expertise in order to speak with credibility on talent management and key people-related issues providing insights to colleagues and customers through presentations and business meetings

Communicate effectively with team members, colleagues, research advisors and external stakeholders

Deliver excellence in product and customer service

Participate in internal and external meetings

Work closely with the Director and other research staff to ensure timely delivery of products and services, conceptualizes new research opportunities/projects, prepares research proposals and secures funding

Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business, organizational behavior, organizational psychology, human resources management, the humanities, social sciences or other related discipline

Minimum of two years of research experience in a professional applied research or business environment

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human resources and total rewards (compensation, benefits, pensions) related issues facing Canadian organizations

Demonstrated understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including surveys, literature reviews, case studies, and quantitative data analysis

Ability to write clearly, concisely and quickly; published work would be an asset

Demonstrated success in handling multiple responsibilities

Proven project management skills (establishing goals, priorities, deadlines and managing towards expected outcomes)

Proficiency with MS Office applications

Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently

Ability to make recommendations or decisions based on a wide range of criteria and information

Experience using SPSS or other statistical analysis program would be a definite asset

Ability to travel in Canada when it is safe to do so

Bilingualism would be an asset
