Your Impact:
As a Transit Vehicle Engineer, you’ll provide Engineering leadership and support for a variety of transit vehicle projects. The role will provide a wide variety of administrative and technical support services. You’ll work with other members of our team by providing leadership and support in the following areas: specification writing, vehicle field testing and evaluation, reliability assessments, design reviews and production quality oversight.
We’ll ask you to work on projects that will include the procurement of new or overhauled transit vehicles and related projects with a focus on Buses, Light Rail Vehicles and Heavy Rail Vehicles. As a team member, you may be involved with field implementation and testing activities for a range of transit vehicles and support system integration of transit vehicle subsystems. You’ll have opportunities to communicate and interact with Rail and Bus Manufacturers and local contractors to resolve technical issues and provide engineering expertise. We’ll rely on you to lead and support the wider team with preparation of technical reports on complex technical equipment problems, failure trends and fleet reliability issues, as well as investigate any part failures or maintenance issues. You will be part of a team that will use judgement-based experiences to evaluate situations and develop solutions, while working independently to achieve individual assignment outcomes while managing your personal workload.
