Human Resources Generalist

Your role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional, and this will be an opportunity to learn from a well-respected and knowledgeable team. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing onboarding and training, administering employee benefits, providing employee relations support and communication, drafting HR policies and programs to engage our team across the organization. You will use Dayforce to ensure all employee records are up-to-date, confidential and provide metrics reporting. And you’ll also act as a point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics and assist in talent requisition and management.

Responsibilities

• Support the administration of compensation and benefit plans, conducting market research as required
• Assist in recruiting and hiring process: posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and recommending candidates
• Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & development initiatives
• Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and policies and escalate when necessary
• Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
• Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies
• Assist in training and development programs
• Undertake tasks supporting performance management
• Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
• Support the organization of quarterly and annual employee performance reviews
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic form, using an HRIS and server filing
• Support compliance with labor regulations
• Support regular employee and organizational communications

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist, with completion of all HR courses, ready to write the National Exam or has achieved CHRM status
• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
• Good knowledge of provincial employment laws, Human Rights legislative requirements, and best practices
• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g. Dayforce) is preferred
• Knowledge of payroll administration
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Aptitude in problem-solving
• Desire to work in a small team with a results-driven approach
