The Field Sales & Specialty Channel Intern will work with all levels of the Hershey Canada Field Sales & Channel Sales organization to understand current results, future expectations, and the business drivers that proactively provide opportunities and/or risks to the division. The Sales department is an indispensable partner of the business teams, well positioned to lead thinking on how to drive the business. You will gain an understanding of the multi-faceted areas in Sales that are required to support a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization while gaining hands-on experience in the field of sales and business analysis. * What will you do?* * Analyze customer POS, Data Research, Retail Audits & Account News and springboard results. * Provide Sales solutions to our Retail & Specialty partners that combine all of these inputs along with Hershey Category and Shopper insights, to provide holistic solutions to big picture issues. * Work closely on a cross functional basis with Sales, Marketing, and Business Planning teams. * Utilize reporting and other information tools to conduct detailed analysis and provided actionable recommendations for Key Customer Teams on an ad hoc, project, and routine basis. * Produce and manage accurate timely business reporting solutions with value-added insights to uncover opportunities. * Produce weekly reports as directed to provide key data to Hershey Sales Management to ensure accurate, streamlined and complete communication of business results and progress. * Territory relief for vacationing RSR/RSM’s in the Toronto market. * Support and lead special projects as they arise * Minimum Requirements* * Enrolled in a business program at post-secondary institution. * Valid drivers’ license and good standing driving record. * Access to a personal vehicle in sound operating condition; mileage rates will be paid. * Travel will be limited to greater Toronto area. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment. * Sound strategic thinking and planning. * Analytical, creative and curious with the ability to problem solve with a diverse group of team members. * Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization. * Takes initiative in pursuing objectives and ensuring deadlines are met. * Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) – Excel skills a definite asset * Benefits & Perks of working with us:* * Strong work-life balance values (flextime and work from home options available) * Flexible dress policy – this includes jeans! * Working in a LEED certified and open concept environment * Corporate social responsibility programs – because we should leave the world a little better than we found it. * Of course, some of the world’s leading chocolate & sweets at your fingertips!
