TPD® Workforce & HR Solutions Looking for Controller at Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

The company is seeking a financial leader who is detail oriented, operationally savvy, strategic, proactive, and hands-on. This person should be a dynamic leader with strong financial discipline, a metrics-driven approach to driving improvement, strong systems knowledge, integrity, and costing/manufacturing experience.

As part of this company’s Finance Team, the Controller reports to the CFO and will provide financial leadership, operational support, and analysis for all financial results and obligations for their Data Solutions businesses along with other holding companies. This is a newly created position within the organization, so the responsibilities of the role will evolve over time, depending on the needs.

What You Will Be Doing

• General:
• Manage financial statements Preparation for five operating companies.
• Under CFO’s guidance and with assistance, prepare consolidated financial statements for the group.
• Work with the CFO to improve the finance and accounting function.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in reporting, collections, payment cycles, payroll, etc.
• Oversee the Payroll and Benefits process
• Reporting:
• Manage the monthly close process for companies under the roles’ responsibility
• Prepare the monthly reporting package and quarterly board decks
• Continue to expand/improve KPIs and metrics (financial, operational and sales related), and ensure they are actionable.
• Prepare annual budgets/forecasts.
• Ensure GAAP reporting and ability to pass the annual audit.
• External Reporting:
• Assist with annual audit process, in coordination with the CFO/Director of Finance.
• Assist with tax and SRED claims, in coordination with the CFO.
• Manage compliance filings, as necessary.
• Cost management and containment across the organization.
• ERP – Assist with the implementation of new ERP.
• ERP Report Writing – Assist with writing reports in XL Connect Excel Add-in and using BAQ functionality in Epicor.
• Cash flows – Review 13-week cash flow and assist in analysis of cash flows with CFO.
• Payroll – Review payroll for accuracy and assist with making improvements.
• Assist with audit including creating and maintaining schedules, converting local reporting to IFRS, and managing/improvement consolidation process.
• Policy development and administration.
• Process and Controls assessment, documentation, and improvement.

What You Bring To The Table

• CPA Designation
• BS in Accounting or Finance
• Manufacturing or experience in food preferred
• Consolidation experience
• ERP experience, particularly implementations highly desired
• Strong background in continuous improvement methods/tools/KPI’s
• Robust excel skills
