Robert Half is partnered with a leader in the manufacturing industry and is hiring an Accounts Payable Lead for their growing team. The Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the Accounts Payable team. This is a full-time permanent position located in Toronto, ON. This is a hybrid working module and flexibility to work in office and at home.
Responsibilities:
– Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor payments
– Maintain vendor set up and vendor relations
– Verify, match, code and enter invoices into their ERP system
– Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues causing backlog
– Team management; provide training, coaching and development of Accounts Payable Clerks
– Resolve accounts payable discrepancies and perform vendor account reconciliations
– Work with the Finance Manager on KPI generation and analysis
– Ensure the integrity of the accounts payable subledger to reconcile with the accounting system
– Ensure the integrity of expense reporting system and provide training for new users
– Assist with Month End close procedures: complete adjusting journal entries, monthly accruals and balance sheet account reconciliations
– Contribute with the recommendation, implementation, and maintenance of process improvements within the department
– 3+ Years’ experience in accounts payable
– 1+ year experience as a Senior AP Lead or management experience
– Relevant education in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or another relevant field OR equivalent work experience is an asset
– Understanding of accounting and financial concepts surrounding accounts payable and internal controls with the ability to apply them to business situations
– Demonstrate success with creating and implementing accounts payable best practices and internal controls
– Resilient problem solver, negotiator, independent, self-starter and ability to take ownership and strong leadership skills
– Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrate ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills
– Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred
– Strong Microsoft Office skills with intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills is required
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
