Position Summary
The Faculty of Education invites applications for multiple part-time Academic Teaching Staff to teach the following courses in the Fall 2023 term. These courses are part of the Teacher Education North program, located in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Please indicate which course(s) you are applying to teach in your cover letter.
EDEL 335 Curriculum and Pedagogy in Elementary School Social Studies
This course provides an introduction to teaching and learning of Social Studies education in Elementary schools. The focus will be on using curriculum, instructional strategies, planning, assessment, and resources to meet student needs through social studies.
EDEL 321 Introduction to Curriculum and Pedagogy in Elementary School Physical Education
This course is designed to prepare students to teach Physical Education effectively in an elementary school setting. The goals to this end integrate understanding of child development, physical education, health, curriculum and pedagogy and making curricula links.
EDEL 325 Curriculum and Pedagogy in Elementary School Music
An introduction to the theory and practice of teaching music in the elementary classroom. Special emphasis on hands-on experience with techniques, strategies, and materials appropriate for K-6. No previous experience with music notation necessary.
