IDEMIA North America Looking for Data Migration Engineer at Ontario Full Time

• Data MIgration Engineer

Purpose

Work with the team and business to define the elements of the data to be migrated, create scripts and complete testing and support Business QA of the migrated data..

Key missions

• 5-10+ years of relevant and related work experience.

• Must have proven data ETL experience.

• Must have migrated data between various relational databases (on-prem or on cloud) such SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.

• • Identify inefficiencies in current databases and implement improved solutions

• Responsible for providing day-to-day administration support and maintenance for existing and new databases on prem and on AWS Cloud

• Understand and analyzes customer requirements, data format specifications, interface

specifications etc.

• Drive, enable and manage data migration team members to profile, assess, map, extract, cleanse, transform, load and validate the data.

• Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure data migrations meet requirements and avoid data quality issues, as well as postload remediations as much as possible.

• Identifies, defines and communicates technical tasks that need to be performed

• Create / customise, test and troubleshoot software and script components using a variety of

existing and specific Data migration tools, programming languages and generic tools (java, linux

shell scripting, javascript etc.)

• Manage activities around Linux, shellscript, XML, java

• MUST HAVE technical skills

To succeed in these missions, the resource will need the following skills:

• Demonstrable Experience with source control and issue tracking systems (e.g. SVN, JIRA).

• Sound knowledge of scripting languages (shell, JavaScript etc.)

• Sound knowledge of ETL processes and tools needed to successfully execute Data Migration

• Sound Knowledge of databases (SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

• Experience in similar roles 4+ years

• English in both written and oral.
