Provision People Looking for General Accountant at Kingsville, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Summary:

Our award-winning client is a growing organization in the agricultural sector, and is looking to add a General Accountant to their team in Kingsville, ON. Reporting to the Controller, the General Accountant will be responsible for performing month-end activities, financial analysis, and working with the team to establish and maintain efficient practices. This is a full time, permanent role. Fully onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations as well as aging AP/AR schedules.
• Assisting in the month-end process by preparing general ledger entries and accruals.
• Working with AP and AR to process payments, code invoices, issue remittances, process and issue invoices, reconciliation, and verifications.
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and posting bank transactions.
• Working with operations to verify accurate inventory data, and assisting with inventory reconciliation as well as posting journal entries.
• Preparing KPI reports, tracking project costs and preparing various analysis such as variance analysis.
• Assisting with ERP system improvements and training.
• Assisting with vendor and customer issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Education in Business, Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
• 2+ years relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong knowledge in Excel – experience with pivot tables, queries, VLOOKUP’s.
• Experience utilizing an ERP system.
• Strong analytical and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization skills with the attention to detail.

Complimentary Experience:

• Currently working towards obtaining CPA.
• Experience utilizing JD Edwards, Famous Produce Software and Hubble.
