Position Summary:
The Logistics Dispatch Clerk will be responsible ensure the dissemination of transport requests within the organization in a timely and accurate manner. As well, this position will be responsible to measure the activity and volume of requests and make recommendations to staffing models as appropriate.
Triage and prioritize patient and equipment transport requisitions
Assign critical tasks to Logistics Attendant or Volunteers to ensure smooth workflow and patient and equipment transport in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Graduate
Experience:
One to two years of logistics experience in a health care environment
One to two years in customer service orientated role
One to two years using a dispatch system (telephone and online requisition)
Competencies:
Knowledge of call software and technology and its functionality within a healthcare setting
Basic understanding of Meditech
Basic knowledge of computers
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
Accurate, conscientious, and well organized
Able to prioritize workload with varying deliverables
Ability to work both within a team and independently
Strong attention to matters related to safety
Experience running and maintaining statistical reports
Ability and experience demonstrated through positive performance appraisals, work history, and attendance records
Responsible to maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients and staff
Responsibilities:
Answering a significant volume of calls directly from the patient units
Coordinating Logistics staff throughout the day including portering needs, inventory management time and breaks.
Serves as a liaison between staff on units, Logistics Attendants and Logistics Manager.
Providing a high level of customer service and support to the clinical units
General administrative duties such as label printing, clearing orders from the system, spreadsheet maintenance
