The Opportunity
As our client’s Maintenance Coordinator, you will be entrusted with supervising the maintenance departments at two separate facilities. Your expertise and experience will called upon to uphold the company’s GMP, HACCP, CFIA, and Safety standards.
Position Description
This is a permanent, full-time position. Your schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, from 5:30am to 2:30pm.

Responsibilities
- Developing an effective system to ensure equipment compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, and quality standards.
- Working with automated equipment such as PLCs, robotics, motors, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and electrical and refrigeration equipment.
- Technical proficiency in Electrical, Mechanical, Machining, Boiler, HVAC, Welding, and General Construction practices.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving skills, coaching, mentoring, and training abilities.
- Conflict resolution skills, ability to align performance for success, and taking initiative.
- Team orientation and self-direction.
- Directing maintenance and repair of the establishment’s machinery, equipment, and electrical and mechanical systems.
- Development and implementation of schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
- Overseeing training and supervision of staff.
- Planning, organizing, and directing administrative services such as signage, cleaning, maintenance, parking, safety inspections, security, and snow removal.
- Carrying out other duties as require
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities
- Prior food industry experience an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment
Qualifications
- Class B Refrigeration License is viewed favourably but is not essential
- Electrician or Millwright license would be an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skill
Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a Millwright or Industrial Electrical License.
