The Role

We’re Warren Industries, a leading auto-parts manufacturer renowned for crafting parts for some of the world’s best cars. We’re currently on the lookout for a Senior Product Design Engineer. In this role, you’ll leverage your engineering and leadership skills to shape product development in our dynamic automotive manufacturing environment. You’ll be instrumental in product concept evaluation, coordinating prototype builds, supporting project management, and conducting comprehensive testing plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with technical evaluation/brainstorming of new product concepts.
• Model and analyze components using 3D modelling (CATIA preferred) and FEA software.
• Develop and maintain assembly drawings, detail drawings, and component specifications.
• Conduct studies and create engineering documentation including DVP&R, FMEAs, tolerance stacks, GD&T analysis, DFM studies and risk assessment.
• Coordinate prototype builds, create test plans, monitor test execution, and create test reports.
• Liaise with customer engineers.
• Support Project Management with implementation of new products through product launch and mass production.
• Create program documentation per APQP processes and specific customer requirements.
• Investigate new materials, technologies, and innovations to drive brand growth.
• Manage all aspects of design, manufacturing, and quality issues for a particular program.

The Person

• Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• 8 years’ experience in automotive industry involved in engineering design of mechanism components is preferred.
• Proven leadership, strong organizational, communication, and writing skills.
• Solid command of CAD, FEA, and other analytical tools.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups and gauging techniques.
• Robust understanding of product development of components and mechanisms for automotive mass production.
• Experience working with OEM and Tier 1 engineering teams during the development phase.
