The Compliance Monitoring and Inspections branch is the field service unit of the department, and all natural resource officers work under this umbrella. Our branch provides compliance, monitoring, inspection, education, enforcement and community client support services for all natural resource development activities across the Yukon.
This position is responsible for providing both inspection and client services for a multidisciplinary resource management program. Natural resource officers play a key role in ensuring the consistent application of responsible and sustainable resource development practices, and work closely other members of federal and territorial government and First Nation governments.
As an integral member of a territory-wide team, this position employs an Education, Encouragement and Enforcement philosophy, while monitoring compliance of land use, water use, forestry, mineral and quarrying development activities, through environmental and resource management legislation and authorizations.
Approved candidates may be provided reimbursement of relocation expenses if required, in accordance with the Interview and Relocation Expense Directive .
