Department Summary
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta exists to teach the discipline of family medicine for the future of practice and the needs of society, and to produce scholarly work that improves the practices of family medicine and primary health care. The residency program of the Department of Family Medicine is strongly grounded in Evidence Based Medicine and is supported by physicians well known for their involvement in medical research. The training of residents emphasizes the development of skills, behaviours and attitudes required for effective, community-based clinical practice, where the practice is based on collaborative doctor-patient relationships and where the physician is a resource to the practice. This primary two-year program leads to eligibility for certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Position Summary
The Department of Family Medicine invites applications for a part-time curriculum assistant position to support the residency program curriculum renewal related to the Outcomes of Training Project (OTP). In consultation with the program director and assistant program director, the successful candidate will be dedicated to the transformation of the residency program curriculum, including all aspects of the curriculum redesign process. This role involves collaborating to support continuous improvement and renewal of the existing courses and programs, and the identification of opportunities to add new offerings that are in alignment with provincial and national family medicine curriculum standards and priorities.
