BCIT’s Aviation Programs in the School of Transportation requires two (2) regular, full-time Faculty at our Aerospace Technology Campus in Richmond to teach in the approved curriculum for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘M’ (Maintenance), Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Category ‘E’ (Electronics), and Aircraft Gas Turbine Technician programs.

Teaching, evaluation and preparation for both online remote delivery and in-person delivery of theory, and in-person delivery of shop activities.
Administrative responsibilities, assignments, and student evaluation.
Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement.
Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver services.
Working collaboratively with our Department Heads.
Other duties directly related to the support and delivery of the programs.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence, M or E, with previous Airworthiness Certification Authority (ACA) granted by an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) an asset.
Graduate of an approved aircraft program from a Transport Canada approved school, or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum of five years of recent industry experience in aircraft line and heavy maintenance.
Demonstrated comprehension knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS) and how they pertain to the personnel licensing system and aircraft maintenance in Canada.
Preference will be given to applicants with well-rounded industry experience.
Previous supervisory, Quality Assurance, or post-secondary teaching experience would be an asset.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical skills necessary to instruct all aspects of the Canadian Council for Aviation and Aerospace (CCAA) and Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer basic curriculum.
Must have the discipline and the knowledge to instruct course curriculum at the level required to meet course objectives.
Effective command of the English language – both written and oral.
Demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Current computer literacy.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collegial manner within a team and to contribute to a continuous product improvement environment.
Gas Turbine maintenance knowledge would be an asset.
Completion of an instructional techniques course or the Provincial Instructor Diploma would be an asset.

Salary Range Salary range: $68,375 – $101,563
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
