Summary

Two Twelve Consulting is assisting Big Stick Rentals in the recruitment of a Shop Foreman/Forewoman position. The Shop Foreman/Forewoman is responsible for managing and maintaining the shop, enabling employees to work to the best of their abilities, including removing obstacles, keeping order and cleanliness, as well as coordinating schedules. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and proactive when determining how to best meet the shop needs. The Shop Manager to ensure the day-to-day management of employees runs smoothly and assist in repairs/maintenance as required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate service and maintenance of equipment both in house and in the field.
  • Review and analyze maintenance reports
  • Review and implement equipment maintenance tracking program
  • Conduct annual audits, as required
  • Review, analyze and improve day-to-day processes
  • Measure and improve productivity
  • Manage supplier and customer relationships
  • Develop and implement strategies to keep employees motivated and dedicated
  • Promote a work environment that encourages high morale, productivity, efficiency and safety
  • Report all damaged or faulty equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Inspect and conduct routine services on heavy equipment for proper performance
  • Repair, maintain and replace parts on heavy equipment to ensure equipment is in safe operable condition
  • Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning, and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
  • Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies
  • Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment
  • Proactively communicate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Promote a work environment that encourages high morale, productivity, efficiency and safety
  • Report all damaged or faulty equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Work with supervisors to develop consistent operating procedures and identify improvements
  • Responsibilities, duties, and requirements may vary according to the project needs
  • Other duties relevant to position as assigned by the manager

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET), with Red Seal Certification preferred
  • Experience in a Equipment Rental Shop Preferred
  • 10+ years experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Self-Driven personality with exceptional time management skills
  • Proven work experience as a Shop Foreman/Forewoman or similar role
  • Strong ability to Multitask
  • Ability to work in teams and communicate both verbally and written
  • A keen eye to details and decision making skills
  • A great understanding of work optimization techniques
  • Ability to handle emergency situations, work pressure and stress
