The formation of OCL was a direct result of a few long-tenured industry professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit, wanting to get back to their roots and build an organization “where people matter”. The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Civil Superintendent to support our project in Foster Creek, Alberta at the Cold Lake Weapons Range.
Shift: 10/4
LOA: $300/work day LOA of which $200 is LOA, $50 for drive in and $50 for drive out as crew truck will take about 45 minutes to get to the Weapons Range Gate
Responsibilities:
- Directing daily activities and oversight of crews and subcontractors
- Demonstrate leadership in the health, safety and environmental protection on the project
- Apply the Project Specific Safety Program requirements to promote overall compliance of company and client HS&E standards, OH&S Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors
- Implementation of project execution plan
- Maintain and drive the construction schedule to ensure budget and timelines are met
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications and design drawings, ensuring high quality standards are maintained
- Submission of daily production reports
- Identification and management of change
- Strategically plan and implement resources to ensure proper personnel, equipment and subcontractors are available as required

Requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience in executing civil earthworks projects
- Minimum 5 years directing crews and overseeing subcontractors
- Ground Disturbance II, H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS 2015 and CSTS-2020 certifications required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in scheduling and labour budget preparation
- Experience in Microsoft and/or Google applications
- A demonstrated background in team leadership with a focus on worksite safety
- Must bring your own FR clothing
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
