About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement, the Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for raw material inventory analysis, order placement and ensuring material arrives in a timely manner. They determine optimal order quantities, identify, and resolve inventory issues and manage supplier relationships.

What You Will Be Working On

• Determine optimal purchase order quantities for products within several product categories, balancing purchase quantities, lead times and safety stock with customer targets
• Submit Purchase Orders to vendors and ensure necessary documentation is provided
• Confirm ocean and air freight booking requests
• Communicate and collaborate daily with overseas vendors to ensure compliance and smooth product flow, and to improve on-time shipment and fill rate metrics
• Expedite/De-Expedite open Purchase Orders as needed to manage changes in demand/supply
• Work closely with several cross-functional teams to ensure customer needs are being met including operations, engineering, packaging finance and inbound logistics
• Identify potential issues with inventory availability; prioritize, develop, and execute corrective action plan
• Achieve budgeted inventory levels using system tools to analyze inventory requirements
• Maintain accurate records of overseas freight bookings, container space allocation, and inbound ocean traffic data, working closely with the Supply Chain Specialists.
• Track and trace all inbound shipment details, organize supporting documentation, and update ERP milestone data in real-time.
• Validate inbound commercial documents (shipping lists, bols, invoices) and escalate outstanding issues to management.
• Provide data analytics support to the Supply Chain team

What are we looking for?

• Undergraduate degree or College diploma
• 3-5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory management, procurement and/or purchasing
• Demonstrated capability to build relationships and work effectively across all business functional areas
• Work successfully in a high volume, SKU intense environment
• Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work well within a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated success at using supply chain experience to drive business change
• Strong knowledge and proficiency in MS Office with a specific focus in Excel
• Experience with ERP system an asset
• Experience in Automotive or other Manufacturing an asset
• Experience in Import and Distribution an asset
