On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Report Developer/Analyst for a 12 month contract working in a hybrid work situation in Edmonton or Calgary.
Report Developer/Analyst Details
This report developer/analyst role will balance time between our (1) back-office system modernization initiative, developing new operational reports in SSRS/SQL, (2) maintaining and enhancing our existing operational reports in SSRS/SQL, and (3) developing analytics and dashboard work in PowerBI as assigned. The primary component of this role is report development in SSRS/SQL.
Report Developer/Analyst Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models using SQL, SSIS, Power BI, 3rd normal form, Kimball, and Data Vault.
Participate in report development tasks liaising between business units, project manager, development team, DBA, and report architect.
Ensure that report development tasks meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Ensure that developed reports are aligned with project and AMA (Alberta Medical Association) standards and best practices.
Develop unit tests for reports after development to ensure like for like from old to new systems.
Participate in the testing phase of the project to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards.
Develop and post documentation for reports developed, procedures, and services that relate to your work.
Provide regular updates to the manager and the team on progress, emerging issues, and new opportunities. Attend daily BI standup.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time. While being able to pivot from project to operational on short notice.
Understanding of how Oracle database queries work, as well as Microsoft CRM data structure, is a plus.
Report Developer/Analyst Mandatory Skills
5+ years experience with SQL
5+ years experience with SSRS
5+ years experience with 3rd normal form database methodology
3+ years experience with Kimball data warehouse methodology
2+ years experience with Power BI
Understanding of SSIS, Data Vault, Oracle, Microsoft CRM.
