Steve Marshall Group Looking for Controller – Rivershore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Rivershore Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is the newest addition to the Steve Marshall Group (as of Sept 1, 2023), and we are eager to continue the excellence that the Kamloops market has come to expect. The Steve Marshall Group is currently seeking an experienced Controller to work on site at its Rivershore Kamloops location, while also having financial oversight of its other two Okanagan dealerships. There will be a requirement to work a couple days each month on site at the Vernon and Kelowna dealerships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial and accounting activities and cycles, including compliance and related processes
• Manage daily operations of the accounting departments and supervise accounting team members
• Manage the posting and recording of deals
• Maintain general ledger and trial balance, including schedules and related entries, ensuring information within the system agrees to supporting documents and external sources
• Produce and maintain various financial spreadsheets
• Prepare the monthly financial statements for three dealerships
• Monitor the financial direction, policies and accounting practices of three dealerships
• Work with each dealership’s management team to regularly review matters and develop plans to increase profitability while minimizing risk and exposure
• Prepare year end reporting packages for external accountants
• Manage all insurance requirements
• Manage and oversee all payroll functions
• Prepare all taxes and filing forms with the government

Requirements

• 4 years of previous experience as an automotive Controller is preferred
• CPA or equivalent designation is required
• Proficiency working with DMS systems, payroll software and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to meet deadlines, lead and supervise team members
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and work independently

Salary:

• Dependent on experience; $90,000 to $110,000 per year
