IMMEDIATE SUPERIOR: Head of Program (Social Services)

Functions
In the context of regular replacement of regular staff in different communities
Intervene on clients struggling with various social problems such as domestic violence, substance abuse, suicide
Intervene in crisis situations, implying to ensure on rotation, the psychosocial emergency services 24/7 including the taking of emergency measures under the Youth Protection Act
Ensures replacements of the Intake worker in Kuujjuaq and in the communities, as needed.
Works with the Social Assistants in the communities
Collaborate and support as needed, social agencies in the community
Intervene according to case, using an individual approach (brief therapy), family (systemic) and community approach
Ensures follow ups of short term client cases
Promotes the multidisciplinary approach with different CLSC programs: mental health, suicide prevention and addiction
Performs any other related duties at the request of his immediate superior
Regular replacement in communities.
Qualifications
Must have a university degree in the humanities or social sciences such as social work, criminology or psychology.
In the absence of a Human Relations Officer who meets all the requirements of the position, a candidate with a technical background in an appropriate discipline (e.g. social work technician or special education) may be considered. If a technician candidate is selected, the applicable salary range will be that which corresponds to his/her level of education.
Possess at least 2 years of related experience in CLSC
Work experience in crisis center is an asset
Work experience in remote region in an asset
Fluent in English and French (spoken & written) knowledge of Inuktitut is an asset
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and interested in sharing knowledge and experience with co-workers
Methodical, responsible and autonomous
Available to travel in the different villages of the Ungava coast
Hold a valid driver licence
Conditions And Benefits
SALARY: Min: $ 947.80 Max: $ 1 679.30 for 35 hours
ISOLATION PREMIUM: $ 203.66 $ per week,
CARGO PREMIUM: $ 74.17 per week
RETENTION PREMIUM: $ 114.99 per week
Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she/he is called upon to perform her/his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit in a transit.
