Description
As the Senior Accountant for this e-commerce, fashion retailer, you will work under the leadership of the Controller and be responsible for supporting the financial reporting and month end process, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, and the work environment is rewarding and fast-paced. - Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
- Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
- Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
- Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
- Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
- Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Requirements
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Strong time management skills preferred
- Understanding of IFRS Accounting is an asset
- Financial reporting experience
- Foundational knowledge in financial analysis
- Strong familiarity with month end closings
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
- Efficient in ERP systems
- Self-starter and strong ethical standards
