Position Summary:
The successful incumbent in this role will join a small team providing financial services, analysis, and support to our 4 locations in the Prairies. The Accountant will assist in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department by preparing and maintaining various forms of financial reports and ledger reconciliations with a high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
● Perform various day-to-day accounting transactions and journal entries
● Reconcile GL accounts (accounts receivable and payable, intercompany, inventory, etc.)
● Monthly bank reconciliations for Canadian and US accounts
● Participate in various monthly accounting cycle activities and reporting
● Variance and margin analysis
● Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
● Submit provincial and federal government reporting and tax filing
● Assist with customer invoicing as needed
● Provide accounts payable support and process online payments as required
● Provide backup support for the Payroll/Benefits Administrator in the region
● Participate in the preparation of forecasts and budgets
● Assist with the compilation of year-end audit reports
● Support and participate in cross-training to provide coverage for other positions within the finance team as needed

Working Conditions
● The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week in an office setting
● On-going use of a computer is required
● Some travel may be required between Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Edmonton
Skills and Qualifications
● Post-secondary education in business, finance, or accounting, combined with a minimum of 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
● Preference for a candidate who has completed or working towards their CPA designation
● Proficient in working with Google Workspace apps and Microsoft Excel
● Experience in aSa/Sage MAS 500 and Ceridian Dayforce software would be an asset
● Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is an asset
● Preference given to those with experience in the construction, manufacturing, or steel fabrication industry
