Southbridge Care Homes Looking for Bookkeeper at London, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Candidates are invited to apply for the Bookkeeper position at Chelsey Park Retirement Community, located in London, Ontario.

You will be accountable for…

• Recording details of financial transactions through Point Click Care (our electronic health record system)
• Preparing and submitting monthly billings to residents, government agencies and other third parties for payment processing
• Disbursing, balancing and replenishing facility petty cash funds and administering trust accounts for the residents in accordance with the Nursing Homes Act
• Preparing bank deposits and completing reconciliations for accounts
• Applying the rate reduction application process for residents
• Accounts receivable / collections and processing all vendor payables
• Payroll duties including data entry and preparing payroll for submission
• Other duties and tasks as assigned to help support the team as a whole!

Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma/certificate in bookkeeping administration, accounting (or comparable) preferred.
• Strong communication skills both oral & written. Secretarial skills and experience with office procedures required.
• Knowledge and experience with office equipment including personal computers and Microsoft Office. Must have an understanding of banking practices i.e. deposits, trust, etc. and sufficient accounting knowledge to determine proper entries.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and have exceptional time management skills.
• Previous experience in working with accounting, scheduling, payroll and resident application systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety practices, principles and legislation.
