Role Description

This is a full-time senior financial reporting analyst role located in Calgary, AB, which offers the flexibility to work from home on some days. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing the financial statements of Exchanger Industries Limited. The candidate will also be responsible for developing comprehensive financial reports, analyzing financial data, reviewing and maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations in a fast-paced multi-national environment and be responsible for streamlining and enhancing group reporting analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing the monthly close process to ensure timely financial reporting from the Group’s three global business units: Exchanger-Canada, Heat Exchangers Worldwide, and HRS-India, including consolidation of results, overall intercompany reconciliation and preparation of the reporting package to the Board of Directors.
• Analyze actual financial and operational results vs. budget and forecast for each reporting unit and at the consolidated Group level. Understand and explain variances accordingly.
• Provide assistance and guidance to our finance staff worldwide to independently resolve issues.
• Prepare and analyze consolidated weekly cash forecasts based on the information reported by the three global business units.
• Serve as the primary online bank administrator for the global Group.
• Consolidate and report daily liquidity position to the Senior Management and Board of Directors.
• Draft annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (‘ASPE’) to support the Group’s external reporting requirements.
• Assist and oversee the audit process by liaising with group and local auditors. Prepare supporting notes, schedules, and reconciliations for annual consolidated Financial Statements.
• Provide oversight to the reporting subsidiaries, including regulatory filings as required, variance analysis, and related financial reporting requirements
• Research and analyze accounting standards in relationship to significant financial transactions, identify alternatives, and document positions in a memo.
• Monitor existing reporting processes and identify and support implementation of reporting process improvements.
• Drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective internal financial controls as well as internal controls over financial reporting.
• Assist in the development and execution of the transfer pricing policy.
• Responsible for supporting the annual budgeting process for the entire Group.
• Coordinate annual insurance renewal process between subsidiaries and the insurance provider.
• Assist with securing financing solutions, including term loans, leases, project financing, and utilization of a borrowing base.
• Support in the financial assessment and evaluation of acquisitions & divestitures and other special requests and projects as assigned by the Global Controller or the CFO.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
• Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACCA)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience in industry
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and building financial models
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of financial controls, consolidation, and reporting in multi-jurisdictional and multi-currency companies
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with global & cross-functional teams
• Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications
• Working experience with an ERP system
• Some international travel, must have a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience with data management and consolidation tools
• MBA or CFA designation
• Public practice audit experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of ASPE or IFRS
