Administrative Assistant, Physician Scheduling and Billing

The Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) is a 55-bed, fully accredited facility located just 45 minutes west of Ottawa, serving a catchment area of over 60,000. Part of the Renfrew and Area Health Village, RVH provides medical, surgical and complex continuing care as well as extensive ambulatory care with over 30,000 emergency and clinic visits per year.
The Renfrew Victoria Hospital is seeking to hire an Administrative Assistant, Physician Scheduling and Billing.
In this role, your main function will be to support the Medical Director, ER with administrative support; ensuring the ER schedule is up to date, and all ER billing has been completed correctly and in a timely manner. This includes AFA (Alternate Funding Arrangement), HOCC (Hospital On-Call Coverage), Surge and other Ministry ER program funding, and ER mentorship stipends. You will do the hospitalist scheduling and hospitalist stipend billing, and the scheduling of our anaesthesia and OR departments. If any shifts coming up are unfilled, it will be your responsibility to alert the Department Chief of Staff, senior management and the Hospital Chief of Staff in a timely manner.
As the ideal candidate, you are highly detail-oriented and work well independently under multiple tight deadlines. You balance your eye for accuracy with a sense of urgency, and are proactive. You are prepared to tackle a learning curve as you master the deadlines and requirements for the different schedules and programs, with our support. You are highly conscientious and recognize your important role on our team, and you take your responsibility to ensure the ER Medical Director is supported, all schedules are filled, and all billing submitted before the deadline, seriously.
You will be a graduate of an approved Office Administration program or have the equivalent experience, and possess a minimum of 3 years of staffing/scheduling/billing experience, preferably for physicians.
This role has a dual reporting function to the Medical Director of Emergency Services and the Vice President of Patient Care Services/CNE, and you will also work closely with the managers and departmental Chiefs of Staff for Hospitalist and Anaesthesia/OR.
