Job Description:
Looking for a chance to make your mark in a fast-paced, professional and fun environment? As a Portfolio Manager, you will have the responsibility of professionally managing the day to day operations of all assigned commercial and/or retail properties, including maintaining an efficient and profitable operation, while ensuring ongoing tenant satisfaction and retention. This role will help maintain Skyline’s goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.
What you will be doing:
Management of portfolio of assigned properties with diligence and efficiency in order to promote a sustainable, effective and profitable operation.
Regularly schedule visits to individual properties to monitor the activities of tenants and contractors.
Manage all property costs and major/capital expenditures in accordance with annual budgets.
Negotiate tenant renewals and lease vacant space, utilizing brokers where necessary.
Complete monthly reporting of portfolio status, including financial results, accounts receivable analysis, leasing overview, operational issues and other matters.
Constantly seek, recommend and implement measures to enhance property values, increase property revenues, control operating expenses and increase tenant retention.
Prepare, tender and recommend service contracts, and agreements.
What we look for:
Administrative experience with all aspects of commercial or retail property management.
Effectively lead others, including suppliers, trades people and subordinates. We have lots of awesome people who work with Skyline and they need just as awesome of a leader.
Ability to develop and prepare property agreements.
Knowledge of principles and practices of commercial or retail property management and of applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations.
Ability to competently read and understand financial statements.
Demonstrate confidence working under pressure and maintaining composure in challenging situations.
Able to be proactive with good problem solving skills, judgment and innovation. If you have a crystal ball that helps too!
Excellent communications skills!
Ability to travel often with a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and automobile insurance.
Minimum 2 to 3 years post-secondary education and 1-3 years of related property management experience or 5 years of equivalent property management experience.
Enrollment in or completion of a recognized property management certificate program such as RPA or CPM an asset.
Valid driver’s license.
