Custom Health Looking for Senior Accountant at British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Custom Health is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team! As the Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include playing a vital role in financial management, preparing comprehensive financial reports, reconciling accounts, managing the general ledger, contributing to audit preparations, and performing a range of other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a Senior Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and be able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate various accounting functions and programs.
• Generate insightful financial analyses and reports to guide decision-making.
• Create revenue projections and forecast expenditures to support financial planning.
• Collaborate on budget preparation and ongoing budget monitoring.
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts with precision.
• Assist in the annual and ad-hoc audit preparations.
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and non-compliance issues.
• Skillfully prepare federal, state, provincial, local, and special tax returns.
• Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Perform other accounting duties and support finance staff as required or assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of prior senior accounting experience is required.
• Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP/IFRS.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with MS Excel.
• Ability to train and manage staff.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently as a remote employee.
