Your daily role

Reporting to the VP Corporate Finance and Accounting and as Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for providing timely, reliable and accurate combined financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis .

You will supervise and develop a team including general accounting and accounts payable professionals for Canada and the United States, while encouraging process improvement and innovation.

You will also play a vital role in preparing for the future growth of the organization.

THE ROLE:
– Ensure supervision of an accounting team;
– Supervise the completion of the accounting cycle and the preparation of the organization’s consolidated financial statements as well as the notes to the financial statements;
– Review balance sheet, expense and income accounts;
– Carry out a complete analysis of the balance sheet and Cash Flow for the organization;
– Present the accounting files and prepare certain documents for visits by the auditors;
– Supervise the accounting of recurring journal entries, bonuses and payroll, the production of performance reports and variance analysis;
– Produce reports required by government and regulatory authorities;
– Prepare various reports and present them to your superior or in front of other people in management;
– Ensure the coordination and weekly monitoring of the work carried out by the members of his team, analyze the discrepancies and recommend appropriate corrective measures;
– Ensure effective communication between team members and internal customers and suppliers;
– If necessary, establish new accounting procedures and policies.

Your profile

– Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience;
– Experience in the manufacturing sector (an asset);
– Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting / Member of the Order of Chartered Accountants (CPA) an asset;
– Highly qualified financial leader with a proven track record of performance and measurable results;
– Strong leadership and written and oral communication skills;
– Collaborative leader capable of building strong interdepartmental relationships;
– Ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment;
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
