We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Coach Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a significant impact on the lives of our students.

In the role of a Behaviour Coach, you will play a pivotal part in helping these students overcome a diverse array of obstacles that hinder their learning and engagement. At the heart of this role lies the power of effective communication. You will be at the forefront of establishing systems and structures that instill positive change in students’ attitudes toward school and learning.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Behaviour Support: Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them develop appropriate behaviour and social skills.
• Collaboration: Collaborating with teachers, counsellors, and other support staff to implement behaviour intervention plans and individualised strategies.
• Observation and Assessment: Conducting observations and assessments to identify triggers and patterns of challenging behaviour.
• Goal Setting: Assisting in setting and tracking behavioural goals and objectives for students.
• Mentoring: Acting as a mentor and role model for students, promoting positive behaviour through modelling and coaching.
• Crisis Intervention: Offering support in crisis situations and de-escalating challenging behaviours when necessary.
• Progress Reporting: Maintaining records and reporting on the progress and changes in behaviour for each student.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience working with students who have behavioural challenges or special educational needs is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and positive behaviour support.
