This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:Opening and closing filesDrafting correspondenceActing as a liaison between client, lawyer and opposing counselRequesting medical and employment records, as well as other document requestsElectronic filing of documentsBasic accounting (paying disbursements and invoicing)Organizing files, binders, client documents and other file related materialsManaging time entry, expense reports, monthly billing and reporting to clientsMaintaining a bring forward systemOrganizing the calendar of the assigned lawyer(s), booking appointments, trials and discoveriesPreparing List of DocumentsTaking monthly practice group meeting minutesOther administrative tasks as required What we are looking for:Minimum 3 years of experience as an LAA in a busy family law practice, with additional experience in general litigation deemed as a major assetA Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institutionProficient with MS Word and OutlookStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environmentAbility to work in independently and in a team environmentPlease send your resume with “Intermediate Family LAA – Langley” in the subject line to careers@lklaw.ca.
