The Opportunity
Columbia College is looking for a full-time Student Services Manager to join our Student Services department. Our ideal candidate is a leader, a self-starter, passionate about working with international students and eager to work in a collaborative and inspiring team environment.
This position requires excellent organizational time management skills and proficient computer knowledge and data management.
The working schedule is Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (35 hours per week). The role will be performed in a hybrid model until the summer semester, combining four days on campus and one day working remotely.

Key Responsibilities
The Student Services Manager is responsible for coordinating academic and student life resources and related events within a busy Student Services department. The role is dedicated to facilitating international students’ adjustment to Canadian College life by supporting their needs through dealing with enquiries, signposting to other staff members and assisting them in their academic and social integration into the College. This position is responsible for the organization, budgeting and implementation of significant events such as Orientation and Graduation.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES included, but not limited to:
Student affairs: providing information, support and liaison
Identifying gaps in service provision and providing solutions to ensure the needs of students continue to be met.
Collaborating with different departments to ensure that programs and services are designed based on students’ needs.
Signposting students to the relevant staff member or agency, identifying potential “at risk” students who require immediate assistance and acting as a link between the College and external agencies such as universities, colleges and our external insurance provider, amongst others.
Working with relevant staff to ensure that information distributed to students is up to date and relevant.
Organizing academic events
Development, implementation and budgeting of new student orientation, graduation and awards ceremonies.
CAMS (SRP)
Working with the CAMS implementation committee to ensure updates to systems and registration procedures are beneficial to students and designing and delivering information or training to students on changes to the system.
Supervision
Supervising the Immigration Advisor, Student Life Coordinators, and part-time Student Services Assistants and Student Engagement Ambassadors, including the following tasks:
Maintaining job descriptions
Initiating the recruitment of staff when required
Hiring staff, developing and maintaining work scheduleand evaluating performance
Submitting hours for payroll on a bi-monthly basis.
There is the potential for this role to supervise co-op placement students from other institutions on Student Services-related projects in the future.
Ideal Candidate
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of three years experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience
ICCRC certification desirable (RCIC/RISIA)
Ability to effectively use information technology such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases, web authoring, Microsoft Office Suite
Proven and effective leadership, organizational and administrative skills
Experience planning events
Team player
Ability to actively engage with a broad range of demographics
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with little supervision
A high degree of professionalism, tact and maturity
Ability to effectively manage time
Salary
Columbia College offers a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. The starting full-time salary range for this position is $73,971 – $80,232, subject to experience.
All Columbia College employees are covered by the Columbia College Employment Agreement, which includes full benefits, a generous RRSP plan and vacation once confirmed.
