Surrounded by the beauty of northern Alberta, Red Earth Creek School is situated in the hamlet of Red Earth Creek, located about 162 kms from Peace River. This school services student in grade K-12 and supports a commitment to academics and various extra-curricular programs such as basketball, hockey, volleyball, and computer club.
One Full-Time 1.0 F.T.E. Jr/Sr High Humanities Teacher is required commencing as soon as possible and continuing until June 27, 2023. The initial assignment will include grade 8/9 English, social studies, health with the possibility of some grade 10 humanities courses.
Qualifications
Training and/or successful experience in teaching social studies and English classes
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents
Ability to contribute to a positive, safe and caring learning environment
An understanding of rural community and culture
Training and/or experience working in multi-grade classrooms would be an asset for this position.
Requirements
Must hold or be eligible for a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Provide an acceptable current Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (applicants within Alberta)

This teaching position falls under the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division.
Annual Salary Range
$ 62, 702 to $ 105, 996 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the Peace River School Division).
