TalentWorld is recruiting for several Barista in Victoria, British Columbia for one of our clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of drinks according to established standards.
• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
• Take customer orders, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
• Address customer concerns or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
• Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Process payments using cash, credit cards, or other forms of payment.
• Prepare and pack to-go orders efficiently.
• Keep the coffee preparation area, cashier station, and dining areas clean and organized.
• Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards in handling food and beverages.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and provide support as needed.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including safety and health regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Familiarity with coffee brewing techniques and equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and precision in preparing and serving beverages.
• Knowledge of various coffee types and their characteristics.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) is required.
• Able to pass background checks.

Employment Details

• Salary: $16.75-$17.40 per hour
• Benefits: Paid parking, Free delicious meals, Additional perks, Union benefits, dental and medical coverage (Eligibility for benefits if working more than 25 hours per week)
• Schedule: Flexible Shifts. Days, evenings, and weekends
• Other: Contract role
