The Opportunity
PEBA is seeking a strategic, client-focused individual to lead the Education and Engagement branch.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Client Service, the Director of Education and Engagement is responsible for:
Leading the Education and Engagement branch, developing synergies between the teams of communication professionals, Certified Financial Planners, and employer support staff;
Member, employer and other stakeholder engagement strategies leading to high levels of confidence, client satisfaction and retention;
Leading and advising the agency and governing bodies on public relations matters; and
Oversight on strategic education and engagement initiatives, including but not limited to, website design and content, member and employer engagement campaigns and workshops for members and employers, annual statements and reports.
Oversees quality and quantity of work produced, insuring employees are held accountable and expectations are consistently met;
Works with other branch leaders to oversee the preparation and distribution of all required member mailings and reviews web portal content for completeness and accuracy; and
Develops and manages Education and Engagement branch budget to ensure efficient operation within budget guidelines.
The Ideal Candidate
Success in this role is measured by pension boards’ satisfaction with education and engagement strategies and outcomes, and the satisfaction of other PEBA branches with their communications support.
To qualify for this leadership position, our candidate of choice will typically have:
Demonstrated success in leading high performing teams;
Experience in developing and maintaining a wide variety of communication channels and related tactics;
Completion of post-secondary education in communications;
Knowledge and experience in a senior communications position;
Knowledge or experience in the financial services and/or pension industry will be considered and asset; and
Knowledge or experience in adult education theory or principles will also be considered an asset.
