Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst based at our Richmond Hill office reporting into the Accounting Manager as part of our Finance Team. The successful candidate will be passionate about Empowering Extraordinary Health, talented at connecting with people, and a team player.
A day in the life of a Senior Financial Analyst
The position is responsible for identifying, explaining, and following-up on all actual variances against budget/forecast, as well as preparing budgets and forecasts within the deadlines. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning and analysis, as well as growing the overall business expertise of the organization via program and customer analysis.
As Senior Financial Analyst you will be working on accounting and financial management functions. You will be involved in:
Accounting Functions:
Calculate, prepare, and process bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, and other financial records according to established procedures.
Prepare the territory and international sales report according to the organization’s policies and procedures.
Coordinate and prepare the annual and monthly budgets and lead monthly close procedures around processing accruals and ensuring income statement accuracy.
Financial Management Functions:
Evaluate financial risks, prepare forecasts, financing scenarios, and other documents regarding capital management, and write reports and recommendations.
Provide analysis of operational performance, expense performance, and working capital. Coordinate month-end close and year-end close activities.
Guide profitable decision making via provision of revenue reports for key accounts, product categories and core SKUs, generation of promotional program ROI, new product assessment and performance tracking, and generally identifying risks & opportunities.
Interact with sales, continuous education and marketing leads to ensure financial goals and strategies are achieved by monitoring and reporting on key financial and non-financial performance indicators.
You will also:
Coordinate accounts receivable functions for the Joint Venture entity including resolving discrepancies between invoiced and paid amounts due to the organization, communicating with customers to determine payment terms and help reconcile existing aged accounts receivable items, escalating issues where appropriate.
Prepare monthly territory report, web seller report, and international sales report.
Perform the gross operating loss Marketing, Sales Analysis, and Commission Report.
Generate and track the monthly prepaid, and accruals for Trophic, gross operating loss, and documentary letter of credit.
Collect and review customers purchase orders, delivery and shipment, duty and brokerage documents, and generate the invoices.
Collect and reconcile the cash donations.
Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliation. Identify, track and investigate the variance transaction.
Ensure the timely and accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of the general ledger for select accounts and entries.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts and recommend adjustments to accrued expenses and liabilities.
Coordinate the monthly closing process and the preparation of month-end financial statements. Identify systematic problems with respect to general ledger accounts and procedures and propose changes.
Identify and documents all the internal control functions for key areas in financial department.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
Take initiative in driving meaningful ad-hoc analysis for business partners and management team.
Perform any other duties as required by the management.
What will make you successful?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance
Strong preference for Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or working towards the designation.
Minimum 3-year experience of directly related work experience in Accounting and Finance.
Good understanding of accounting concepts and related policies.
MS Word (proficiency), Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint (Proficient), JD Edwards, Hyperion, SOS, and proficiency with SAP preferred.
Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity of multiple business inputs to interpreter the issues and project the road map in the financial terms.
Ability to work overtime during month-end and year-end close.
