IT Support Analyst

Adamson’s IT team is growing!

Working from the Toronto head office, this role supports employees across Canada, the USA and the UK.

Responsibilities:

• Provide organization employees with Level 1 IT support and provide support to the Level 2 team.

• Be proactive by anticipating and mitigating potential issues and identifying root causes to minimize the likelihood that issues will reoccur;

• Assist with onboarding of new users

• Installing, configuring and maintaining PCs, printers and other peripheral devices

• Set up and configure user accounts

• Conduct hardware/software asset management and inventory tracking;

• Perform backup and restore procedures

• Assist with overall network and server management as required

• Participate in project-based work as required

• Assist with office buildout requirements in our growing organization

• Other duties as assigned

Required skills/Qualifications:

• Technically proficient supporting desktop operating systems and office applications to include: Windows 7 or later; Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, PowerShell Scripting, antivirus/malware applications. Appropriate certifications are recommended (Microsoft MCSA, CompTIA A+)

• Technically proficient supporting server hardware, operating systems, and applications to include: Windows 2008/2012/2016 servers, Active Directory, MS Exchange/mail server, Enterprise Storage Architectures, Enterprise Backup Solutions, and virtualized environments (VDI, VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, etc.). Appropriate certifications are recommended (Microsoft MCSE, etc.)

• Conceptual knowledge and ability to support networking environments to include local area networks; wide area networks; firewalls, routers and switches, DHCP, DNS, network security. Appropriate certifications are recommended (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, etc.)

• Familiarity with Microsoft server management tools including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, File and Folder permissions

• Working knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 networking: firewalls, high performance routing, client and site to site VPN, WAN optimization.

• Strong communication skills required for face-to-face user interaction and intra-team collaboration

• 2-5 years technical experience in an IT Desktop Support team.

• Degree in Computer Science or Communications preferred

• Training and/or certifications in Information Technology are considered assets as MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, MCP, A+, CCNA, or CCNP

• Strong working knowledge of a Microsoft Windows environment and applicable tools

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• A professional and courteous manner

• Passionate, flexible, and motivated to help others is key

• Strong attention to detail

• Highly organized, including the ability to re-prioritize workload and adapt to changing circumstances

• Good time management skills

• Ability to work independently and understand when to escalate issues

• Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical staff, in verbal and written form

• Ability to travel within Canada, the USA and the UK
