We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to assume the position of Asset Management Coordinator with the Corporate Services Department.

Under the general direction of the Manager, Asset Management and GIS, the Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for providing Asset Management services to all departments within the City of Yellowknife. This is done through the configuration and administration of related applications and the development and maintenance of the Asset Registry, as well as facilitating and advising staff throughout the organization on the development of Asset Management Plans, Levels of Service and Risk Management, developing training modules as needed, and participating in cross-departmental projects as required. This position works closely with the Systems Analyst – Asset Management and GIS, and the Geomatics Officer to provide a high caliber of customer service.

This position requires the incumbent to have a university degree or technology diploma in a relevant discipline (i.e. Engineering, Planning, Construction, Business, IT), as well as formal course work in Asset Management and database management.

Required

The knowledge required to perform the position is usually gained by having a minimum of three years of related asset management experience, including experience performing the following types of tasks:

  • Asset management planning and reporting
  • Working with enterprise work management and Geographic Information Systems applications
  • Conducting software configuration and administration
  • Understanding database architecture
  • Developing Excel workbooks utilizing advanced functions
  • Training, and facilitating discussions with, groups made up of diverse knowledge and interest
  • Manipulating and converting data using Excel

The City of Yellowknife offers a competitive salary range of $79,965 – $95,558 and as well as a comprehensive benefits package including monthly housing and vacation travel allowances and a defined benefit pension plan.
