LeverageTek IT Solutions Looking for Business Systems Analyst at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Opportunity Details

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a 12-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 2-3x/week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Key Tasks

• Engage with clients to document their business/systems and data requirements, process/flows, and create current/future state maps, such that the technical team can decide on the solution/product that would best meet these needs
• Develop business gaps and technical specifications for features and functions that exist outside of the new System
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architect as well as other Solution Architects and Integration Specialists to ensure the approach to integration is aligned with the principles, practices, and technologies in the overall enterprise architecture
• Develop and maintain documentation, including business/systems processes, data requirements, as well as functional and technical specifications related to the System
• Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and assist in the implementation of solutions
• Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop future state process maps
• Document and effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
• Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
• May also assist with testing as well as train end users
• Leverage existing Client technology investments where possible and make recommendations when appropriate tools are not available

Key Qualifications

• Certification: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) from IIBA or PMI-PBA (PMI Professional in Business Analysis)
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a Systems Analyst
• Experience in business/systems analysis and design of large/complex enterprise (ERP) systems with proficiency in data analysis, data flow diagrams, integrations, and APIs

Qualifications

• 3-year diploma / degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or Information Systems
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities with exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
• Significant, recent experience with ERP systems, cloud solutions, and transformative projects
• Experience with one or more current industry standard back-office processes (i.e., infrastructure and networking) and process mapping
• Experience analyzing IT automation solutions combined with business process improvement initiatives
• Hands-on experience developing process flow charts/diagrams and documents as well as knowledge of data and process modelling
• Experience in future state process modelling
• Experience in testing business processes and systems
• Experience in change management
• Experience training end users
• Excellent communicator, both orally and in writing and ability to describe problems to others, to listen and to manage and influence stakeholders
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodology.

Assets

• Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA and Azure Boards
• Experience and/or familiarity with Salesforce, Workday, Thesis, Brightspace and other higher education systems
