About The Opportunity:
Prodigy Group is looking for a Director of People & Culture to lead and manage our HR Operations. This individual will provide assistance and leadership aimed at supporting Prodigy Group to achieve its organizational objectives. The Director of People & Culture works as a strategic partner to Prodigy’s executive leadership. The Director of People & Culture will play an instrumental role in leading strategic initiatives encompassing Human Resources and corporate strategy, talent acquisition and development, employee communication and engagement, company culture, performance management, and organizational development.

As a Director of People and Culture, you’ll be responsible for:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior management on HR-related matters.
- Oversee the full recruitment life cycle, from job posting to onboarding.
- Implement effective retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Manage employee relations, addressing and resolving workplace issues.
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HR policies.
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback.
- Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and development.
- Identify and address training needs to improve overall organizational performance.
- Manage employee benefits programs, ensuring competitive and cost-effective offerings.
- Remain current on all changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring the organization’s compliance.
- Advocate for continuous improvement in HR processes and systems. You’ll help create an environment that embraces change, fosters innovation, and scales effectively with our growth.
About You:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources field required.
- Minimum of 10 years work experience in HR required.
- MBA in Human Resources field or CHRP or CHRL Designation would be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and US labour law and regulations.
- Experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and employees.
- Strong advocacy for diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- This position is an office-based role, working from our head office in Ontario.
- Occasional site visits depending on business needs.
- Occasional travel may be necessary, depending on the organization’s locations and business needs.
